It's the end of Q3. Programs that started in July are two months in. The structure's set, teams are moving, and the point where you could still make early adjustments has passed. But in plenty of organisations the output isn't matching the effort. Burnout is starting to show. Priorities are blurring. Most leaders can feel that things are busier than they are productive, without being able to say exactly why.
Damith Fernando has handled this at a scale most people in the room haven't. He runs a 150-person digital team delivering autonomous drills, digital twins, and integrated operations at once, and at that size you can't confuse being busy with getting somewhere. The systems he's built, SAFe, demand governance, value reporting, operating model design, are there because that confusion costs real operational money. That's why his take on this is actually useful.
